For external gears, the tooth shape is displayed.<\/p>\n<p>The calculation of \u2018contact stress\u2019 is available for point and line contact. It is based on Boresi &#8216;Advanced Mechanics of Materials&#8217; and returns the pressure, the pressure ellipse as well as the maximal shear stress and the stress distribution below the surface. The dimensions of \u2018fits\u2019 can be calculated with tolerances according to ISO 286. All 20 tolerance classes are available.<\/p>\n<p>The calculation programs are made by the company MESYS AG in Zurich.
